DOLO TRAVEL
DUO + SOLO = YOLO = DOLO :< (Medico dad jokes)
In your 20s they will tell you, â you cannot have it allâ It is important that you ignore them and keep going.
Noted.
So. I decided to do what every independent girlie on Internet does: SOLO TRAVEL !!!
Donât get your hopes high buddy, Abba maan gaye par ammi nhi maani :<
So, after rolling on the ground continuously for hours and crying my heart out , I finally went on a trip to Jaipur and Udaipur with my ROOMMATE (coz two girls together are safer than one). Okay ! Okay !
6 days trip, outfit preparation for 8 days , two 5â3 shawtiezzz with big bags , bigger dreams, with chicken feet all set to witnesses low budget YJHD moments in Manali Rajasthan .
Alexa play :
Mera Falsafaa Kandhe Pe Mera Basta
Chala Main Jahan Le Chala Mujhe Rasta
Boondon Pe Nahin
Boondon Ke Samandar Pe Woh Oo WohâŚ
Donât forget to try âDushman Kachori Waalaâ near to âDost Kachori Waalaâ in Jaipur with both of them playing âDushman na Kare dost ne Woh Kaam Kiya haiâ on their speakers out loud ..Discovered them by chance and they proved to be better than insta approved shops.
Yes, we tried all : Pyaaz ki Kachori, mirchi pakoda , lassi (best) , Ghewar, Bun Maska, Masala chowk and every other place with IMDB rating above 8 (IMDB - Instagram based Media decisions).
Sorry to disappoint you , but we didnât just go to forts for aesthetic pictures but we were really interested in history, hired guides and listened to the stories which were once live-streamed within the fort-walls .
Did you know?
There was no lady named Jodha bai (wife of Akbar ) in reality. She was actually Harkha bai (daughter of one of the servants) who had relations with Akbar . The story got popularised in colonial era and by films . They âgaslightedâ Indian audience even before we knew it was a thing. For more such crazy facts , do visit these places and read from authentic sources.
Special shout out to âGaurav Pratap Museumâ in Udaipur ! If you are really interested in learning about bravery of Rajputs and our rich Indian history which is yet not discussed in our textbooks ; make sure to add the place in your itinerary.
After 6 days of visiting every tourist spot ,checking off the bucket list , shifting from Ola âcabâ to Ola âautoâ to Ola âfootâ ( facility available for Ola premium users only), we still managed to slay in every outfit and in every tourist place. (Kyunki Phate to Phate Nawabi na Ghate !)
Jaipur and Udaipur - Two places standing on four pillars of Royalty , Bravery , Beauty and âSanskritiâ ; and you might have read well crafted description of these places on Internet so there is no need for me to write about it but I will still force you to read it and view the place through my -2.75 D concave lenses (Science rizz).
In Udaipur , we travelled with an elderly couple (husband was not in his best mental condition but still they were enjoying together). They have visited Udaipur ânâ number of times but their child like excitement on visiting every place and auntie crushing on Udaipurâs prince and making uncle jealous is an experience to die for âŚ
â I want to be that sassy ,bold and outspoken lady like her in my 80s .â I confessed to my roomie. Auntie was busy clicking photos , trying viral reels, including her husband in every silly act amidst roasting sessions , running here and there like a little kid in the wilderness . And we were in the background ( Yep⌠us in our 20s with backache, joints pain, grey hair, wishing to set couple goals like them and admiring them from faraway because our legs were too tired ; face too tanned; brain too ânerdyâ to witness the childlike innocence alongside them.. With 99 failed attempts of becoming âwannabe coolâ we finally submitted and went ahead to make cringe reels with them. (best decision ever)
We had the chance to visit Flower show and Armed forcesâ weapons showdown (near FatehSagar lake ) and Jaipur Literature festival which we didnât have on our bucket list and was a part of random plans..
Another spot on place was Jagdish temple in Udaipur. We went there two days in a row, in the evening, only to be captivated by melodious bhajans sung by my age people and no one was recording . No cameras ? Holy sh*t!
Is it worth applauding ? Yes, for me , because I cannot imagine genz or gen alpha around me doing bhakti without seeking validation from Internet. I am happy that few people share the same thoughts as me .
Feeling too preachy? I donât want to share my itinerary but some of the itsy-bitsy experiences which I want to rediscover when I visit these places again. (Yes, my fatherâs favourite state is Rajasthan and we visit anyone of the cities in the state every year)
Writing this post while packing to visit Jaipur again with my family coz:
The trip in question happened in January 2025.
BONUS TEXT :
Conclusion:Family trips are best. Not going to any trip whether solo or duo. Canât afford to slay and carry my heavy bags at the same time. Yes, I am a âweakâ independent woman (Us Sharon us) single-handedly summoning Latent fandom.
Not a big fan of shopping ( canât take decisions without my mum). Nevertheless bought a kurti and âMaharaniâ saree for herđ¸đť, kurta for my father and brother, Jhumkas for my friends and juniors and fridge magnet for myself.
To do list of the previous trip :
Learning to operate puppets and be a part of puppet showâ
Wearing my own Rajasthani lehanga and dancing on âChaudharyâ songâ
Getting lac bangles matching my suitâ
Tasting Rajasthani cuisineâ
Trying my hands on pottery makingâ
So⌠Until next time âŚPeace out guys⌠La! La! La !
Wish me Happy Journey!!!
Adding pics from the trip kyunki flaunt Karne ke liye insta account nhi hai!!
